We Are Diva! As the name of the album implies, their latest offering tackles the soaring refrains of 12 of the most beloved Divas in music. Celine, Cher, Madonna, Christina, Boy George… all the greats, done up in the way that only the punk rock prima donnas from the GIMMES can. Soothing and forgettable backing tracks are proudly swapped out for upbeat drums, nimble bass lines, ripping guitar leads, and naturally the tongue in cheek delivery that has become the GIMMES calling card. Of course, when taking on the Diva genre, vocals are of paramount concern. Not to worry. With front man Spike Slawson’s silky smooth singing he gives the ladies a serious run for their money.
