Otherness 2XLP
It’s at Bombs in the Night, where the Bones break from their bleak, broody selves for a moment, that this album takes hold. Prior, any Bones/Strokes comparisons wouldn’t have (such strong) legs. Now there’s at least a discussion. Long one of Toronto’s best young bands, Dinosaur Bones truly achieve on their debut LP. These 11 tracks are emotional and gripping, and show the band as a tight, whole artistic unit with a signature sound. The production from Jon Drew is great, too, but songs like Royalty, Point of Pride, Ice Hotels and the like would stand tall no matter what.
